The final day....

The students Ivy, Shane, Lucas, Rebecca, Renata and Jeff. I think their instructor Rod, in the middle, is just relieved that THIS class is just about OVER!

The boat we all put our hopes in to get us back to shore.

We were going to dive at Flat Rock, just about half way up and to the right of middle. But the current was a bit strong for students, so we went to Shag Rock, in the distance and in the middle of the picture. 14 meters with 10 meters visibility.

Shane's underwater camera got some great shots of the marine life in this strange new world.

Shane was fortunate enough to find Nemo. Shane's daughter had instructed him NOT to come home without a picture of Nemo. Though, his going away for the weekend DID cost him a trip to Seaworld.

Renata grabbed Shane's camera and took this picture to prove that Shane had indeed scuba dived!

After 2 dives of about 35-40 minutes each, we headed back up. On our way, at the 5 meter rest stop, Rod came up to us one at a time to congratulate us on completing the course. I thought this was a rather nice touch as we were still underwater at the time.

We cleaned all the gear, packed the bus (as we had NO trailer) and then had our "Class of May '04" class photo taken.

Unfortunately, Melinda didn't attend the Stradbroke Island segment of the course as she didn't feel confident enough to go that far yet. Melinda has arranged a time to do further pool sessions at Pro Dive before she goes to the Island to complete her training. Melinda, we all wish you luck.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Pro Dive for the chance to learn to SCUBA dive. Rod, our instructor for his professionalism and his ability to take our jokes about the trailer. Peta, our dive master on Stradbroke Island for her presence as she helped keep us in line if we wandered off.

If ANYONE has any considerations of doing a SCUBA diving course, I recommend Queensland Pro Dive Diver Training Centre.
